Savannah's check-up...

Savannah got a great report today from both the dentist and the doctor and I couldn't be more proud of my little girl.
Our first stop this morning (after going to the post office to drop off some Mother's Day mail) was to the dentist. This was her first visit and I wasn't sure how she would handle it.
The dental assistant told me that Savannah would probably not get an actual cleaning because she would be too scared. But when she showed Savannah the cleaning tool and asked if she could clean her teeth she opened up her mouth and let her clean them!
I think she liked the strawberry toothpaste the assistant used to shine those pearly whites!
The dentist said Savannah's teeth look good (from what he could see from the limited view she gave him) and there are no cavities. He also told me kids Savannah's age very rarely have cavities, but I was worried!
Our next stop was to see Dr. Mayo, the children's doctor. She is a great lady and we've been seeing her since we moved to central Virginia more than two years ago.
Savannah weighed in at 31.5 lbs (she's in the 50th percentile for kids her age) and is 32 inches tall (in the 25th percentile for kids her age).
Dr. Mayo said Savannah is in good health and is very verbal and where she needs to be in growth and development.
The worst part of the morning was when Savannah had to get two shots... and it was so painful to watch her cry big tears.
But she toughened up and was calm when we checked out and picked up two stickers at the front desk... one for herself and one for Julius!
