I voted...

I got out on this rainy Virginia morning to cast my vote in the presidential election. It was my fifth time voting for a president and I feel as good about my choice as I guess anyone does.
I'm smart enough to know no one person can go into an office and keep all promises made during election time. I've covered enough politics to know that no matter how honest a politician seems to be at face value, there has to be something that drives them to office... and it isn't just noble public service.
I only had a 10-minute wait at our polling place and I'm hoping Pat will have a short wait when he goes to vote in about an hour.
This will be the first time in 12 years that I haven't been in a newspaper office covering the election... so it will totally different for me.
I can turn the channel when I get tired of hearing about it! Plus, I can look forward to tomorrow when we don't have to see any more campaign ads... that is almost as good as seeing the person you voted for win!
YEAH!!
