Going to the doctor...

Pat had his long-awaited doctor's appointment today, but alas we left after three hours with little more information than we came in with.
Pat has had problems with his legs for years... they hurt him a lot when he comes home and sits down to relax. His leg problems have become a nightly issue and there are very few things that give him any sort of relief.
So after several visits to the primary care doctor in Charlottesville we were referred to a specialist at the University of Virginia. This doctor specializes in Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, an inherited neurological disorder that affects the arms and legs. This problems run in Mom Fitzgerald's family so we have began to think that could be the root of his problems.
Well, the doctor pushed and pulled on Pat this afternoon and while his legs certainly show some symptoms of CMT the doctor isn't ready to commit to that diagnosis.
So now we have to wait another three months while Pat documents problems with his legs and we gather more family history.
It's time for us to start reporting on medical history...
