More party pictures...

Here are a few more photos... Heather takes amazing photos.

Savannah's Wiggily Party...

We had Savannah's Wiggily 2nd birthday party today and it was quite a success despite the fact that several people had to cancel their plans to be with us.
We celebrated her big day on the day she was actually scheduled to come into the world, but nine days after he birthday day.
Thanks to Aunt Kathy and Uncle Tom and our friends Heather, Melissa and Jocelyn for taking away from their Mother's Day to celebrate with us. Savannah celebrated with her friends Brookie, Haiden, Jayden and Aidan (along with Julius).
Here are a few pictures Heather, Brooke and Haiden's Mom, took at the party.

Busy weekend ahead...

It's been a busy week here in the Fitzgerald house as we get ready for a family-filled (and hopefully lots of fun) weekend.
Mom and Dad Fitzgerald will arrive tomorrow to spend two nights with us as we prepare to celebrate Savannah's birthday and our niece, Samantha's, graduation.
Samantha graduates Saturday morning from James Madison University (which I have more than once mistakenly called John Madison - mixed it up with a similarly named school in Arkansas). I'm staying home with the kids while Pat and Mom and Dad go to the graduation ceremony and then we'll join them for a little gathering afterwards.
We're throwing Savannah a "Wiggly" birthday party on Sunday... to translate that for all of you non-Wiggles fans, that means it will involve everything Wiggles. I had to place an order to Australia to get party favors, but luckily it wasn't very expensive.
We're expecting six or seven children (that includes our two) and family to join us for a nice afternoon... hopefully the weather will cooperate after a crazy week of rain.
Here are some pictures I took of the children earlier today... Pat and I are so fortunate to have such wonderful kids.

Playtime at the Fitzgeralds...

I captured these photos yesterday after I put Julius under his play gym to get some exercise. Savannah was playing with Julius and then she started giving him a pacifier and then taking it away from him.
I hope he's always as patient with her as he is now!

Savannah's 2-year check-up....

I took Savannah to the doctor yesterday for her second-year check-up and she's doing really well. She took her Dolly with us and Dolly got a check-up too.
Savannah weighed in at 26.6 lbs., and is 38 inches in length... and the doctor said she falls right in the middle of children her age in the height and weight charts. Sidenote: I didn't get the measurements on her head, but she fell in the 95th percentile there... lots of room for all those brains!
Dr. Mayo said Savannah is doing well (and so was Dolly) and that we should continue allowing her to take things like potty training at her own pace. She said all the sickness Savannah has had this winter is due to the playdates we have and is normal.
We don't have another check-up until she is 3... and it sounds so far away, but I know it's not.

Sickness... once again

We've been the weekend battling Savannah's high fever... which went up to 104.5 at one point Friday night.
Earlier in the week we were over visiting Brooke and Haiden and the next day Brooke came down with a high fever... and although Savannah had a runny nose the next day I was hoping we would miss that part.
We just missed it by a few days.
Pat noticed Savannah was a little warm when we got to Vinny's on Friday so I gave her a little Tylenol and she perked up for her birthday dinner celebration.
But by the time we got home and got ready for bed she had a pretty high fever.... so more meds and bedtime with Mama.
When I got up in the middle of the night and checked her temperature it was 103.5 ... which the on-call nurse kindly explained was actually a point higher when you check in under the arm.
I stayed up most of the night watching Savannah to make sure she was breathing normally and called the doctor's office the next morning so we could take her in.
The doctor says she just has a cold and the high temperatures are nothing to worry about as long as she's not lethargic or rigid. She also told me that healthy children can expect to have runny noses at least 28 weeks out of the year.
The good news is that Julius has the same cold, but probably won't get the fever because of his age (according to the doctor). Savannah should also be back to her normal self (she fever seems to already be gone) in time for her Wiggly birthday party next week.
That's just scary!

Celebrating with friends...

We took Savannah to Vinny's Pizza in Ruckersville tonight to celebrate her birthday and invited her best friends, Brookie and Haiden, to join us. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we had fun watching Savannah enjoying herself despite the fact she's feeling a little under the weather.
